About The Nobel Prize and the festivities
The Nobel Prize, considered the world’s finest awards, is a heritage from the scientist and the industrialist Alfred Nobel’s testimony since 1895. The prize is awarded in the categories Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Economy and Literature and Peace on December 10 in Stockholm and Oslo each year since 1901.
The great Nobel party in Blå Hallen in Stockholm City Hall follows the Award Ceremony. Aside from the winners and their families there are 1 300 other guests. The members of the Swedish Royal family are guests of honor. Everything, from food, wine and flower-settings to entertainment is planned and rehearsed to the detail before the great banquet. Since 1978, The Student associations of Stockholm School of Technology, Stockholm School of Economics and The Medical Institution of Stockholm host the after party, the so-called Nobel Night Cap. The idea is for the award-winners and the other guests to let their hair down and celebrate the evening in a more relaxed environment, without any media present. In other words, the perfect time for the Noble Explosion Cocktail.

Peel the skin of an orange and make sure to cut off the white skin on the inside. Light up a flame from a lighter above the glass. First heat the surface of the skin with the flame and then squeeze the skin so that the oil squirts through the flame.
